Job Description:
Data Collection and Management
- Design/plan and implement data collection methodologies and tools to gather relevant information from income saving groups, health and nutrition sector
- Contribute to the creation or adaptation of easy-to-use tools and procedures for an effective M&E system measuring the impact of activities, and directly support teams to implement them.
- Develop/maintain databases and other data storage systems, ensuring data integrity and security – will include Project KPIs.
- Ensure all project documents are up loaded to the server and ensure proper filling systems
- Ensure project databases are kept up to date and ensure there is proper tracking project activities in alignment with project strategic objectives.
Monitoring and reporting
- Work with project officer to ensure all reports are timely compiled and submitted
- Compile and review weekly, monthly and quarterly reports and submit to the Project Manager/Designated Supervisor after ensuring the reports have met World Vision internal and donor reporting standard.
- Support the creation and maintenance of M&E framework for the project
- Conduct capacity building to field extension worker on M&E activities to ensure smooth implementation
- Report to Project Manager/designated Supervisor on any anticipated project issues, risks/threads and any emerging opportunities
- Analyse quantitative and qualitative data to identify trends, challenges, and opportunities in community resilience and local governance.
- Prepare regular progress reports that outline key findings, challenges, and recommendations based on data analysis.
- Prepare and present data insights at meetings, workshops, and community engagement activities to inform decision-making and policy development.
Documentation and learning
- In collaboration with the communication department, document and share good quality success stories and relevant learnings from the project
- Ensure knowledge transfer and dissemination of good practices and lessons learned to teams.
- Support teams in extracting critical lessons learned, documenting good practices, as well as identifying and highlighting achievements of objectives and outcomes.
- Propose ways to disseminate M&E learnings internally and externally.
- Ensure external accountability to donors through the implementation of timely and high-quality M&E activities, leading to accurate reporting.
- Ensure M&E system is implemented as planned and adapted as needed following lessons learned or changes in context
- Engage with community members to understand their perspectives and incorporate their feedback into data collection and analysis processes
Assessment, evaluation and accountability to affected populations
- Ensure M&E system is implemented as planned and adapted as needed following lessons learned or changes in the project
- In coordination with Project Manager, assess the needs and capacity of different working groups to deliver on M&E objectives project level, and build their capacity to deliver, through coaching and mentoring on methodologies, tools and procedures.
- Ensure proper completion and safe return of all tally documents and beneficiary lists to the head office for safe storage.
- Work closely with teams to ensure that M&E becomes an integral element of planning and implementation, leading to improved quality, accountability, management and impact.
- Provide technical and methodological support to Program teams for the implementation of M&E activities (surveys, data collection and management, interpretation of data etc.), and data analyses to identify areas of progress and improvement.
- Conduct field visits to ensure data validation and consistency across structures
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Project planning and management and other Social Sciences in related field.
- At least, 3 years of proven experience in data management, analysis, and reporting, preferably in development projects or community-based initiatives.
- Strong skills in statistical software (e.g., DHIS2, SPSS, KOBO, ODK and SMAP) and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Familiarity with participatory research methods and community engagement strategies.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex data in an understandable manner.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
