Job description

The individual must have experience and in-depth knowledge about sports coaching, sports nutrition, sports psychology and developing talent. A proven track record as a participant in sporting activities. The purpose of the position is to develop sports programs through a grassroots approach, identifying and nurturing local talent, and providing coaching programs to help participants become competitive, with exposure to opportunities that would otherwise be beyond their reach. The ultimate goal is to be recognized as a high-performance training center (HPTC) for sporting disciplines.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position will be required to adhere to all relevant requirements, policies, procedures, and legal regulations about health, safety, environment, and quality, as well as finance, human resources, and any other regulations as required by the company and relevant to the level of the role and responsibilities of the function.

Key responsibilities include:

  • To scrutinize the current program pursued by the Foundation, looking at maximizing impact whilst being financially efficient.
  • Assist the various sporting disciplines to implement appropriate coaching programs, clinics and related activities in all disciplines as pursued by the Foundation.
  • Lead and empower local coaches in sporting disciplines as pursued by the Foundation, and beyond if reasonable.
  • Identify opportunities for national and international competitions to expose athletes to higher levels of performance.
  • Organise sports events and competitions to showcase talent and involve the wider community.
  • Measure and track the performance of coaches and athletes in all relevant sporting disciplines
  • Develop media articles on sports events, sports development and the positive impact this has on the local community
  • To look for partnerships with sporting bodies outside the Company, focusing on local impact

Capacity Building

  • Coaching competency
  • Implementing the mentoring and coaching of high-potential athletes, the focus being local content
  • Spread knowledge and foundations of sport
  • Other duties as directed by the Foundation Manager
    Reporting
  • Track and report on athletes’ progress and performance in all sporting disciplines pursued by the Foundation)
  • Plan and report on all coaching activities.
  • Assist with the preparation of annual budget programs and events.

QUALIFICATIONS
· Degree in sports science, physical education, or a related field
· coaching qualification

EXPERIENCE

· Proven sports participant.
· Proven experience in sports coaching and athlete development.
· Microsoft Suite of Software.
