Job description

  • Supervise asset management activities to ensure optimal performance and compliance with standards.
    As Part Of Our Team You Will:
  • Assist in development of plans and budgets for Asset Management.
  • Co-ordinates Asset Management programs.
  • Ensure compliance with Management systems that facilitate safe and efficient operations in alignment with Newmont vision & values.
  • Assist with resolving asset management priorities in conformance with short-term and long-term production goals.
  • Assist with cost control.
  • Assess data to apply asset utilization and cost-effectiveness.
  • Provide reports on asset running performance to senior management.
  • Ensure QA/QC and continuous improvement initiatives are delivered.
  • Ensure team members are compliant with systems and processes.
  • Responsible for assessing relevant risks, executing mitigation measures, and continuously monitoring for risks.
Your Training, Skills & Experience Checklist:

Formal Qualification (including Professional Registrations): 

  • Formal qualifications in Engineering or relevant Trade disciplines.
  • MINCOM certification with Inspection Engineer as a minimum.

Additional Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of relevant statutory legislation and regulations.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 – 10 years’ experience in the mining industry.
  • Minimum of 1 – 2 years’ supervisory experience will be an advantage.
  • Experience in asset management best practices and standards.
  • Ghanaian driving license C, E and experience operating heavy mobile equipment will be an added advantage.

Problem Solving Ability:

  • Completes concrete procedural tasks.
  • Follows procedural steps to complete work.
  • Uses practical judgment to overcome problems, or requests assistance.
  • Sees alternatives based on trial & error.
  • Improves working methods using day-to-day experiences, procedures, observations of pattern of events, and trial and error.

Technical Skills:

  • Advanced management of asset management programs.
  • Advanced Compliance skills.
  • Advanced Risk Management.
  • Competent Report Writing.
  • Competent QAQC and ability to deliver continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Competent Data analysis.
  • Competent Contractor/vendor management.
