Your duties will include but not limited to the following: 

• Ensure positive and effective implementation of Barrick Security policies and procedures inclusive of the company’s commitment to the Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights.
• Represent Lumwana Copper Mine on the mine site as a Security checkpoint officer.
• Supervise the necessary programs and ensure reporting functions that will facilitate timely reporting of incidents are adhered to.
• Arrange shift patterns ensuring all checkpoint posts are manned 24 hours a day and rotated on a regular basis.
• Ensure Officers always maintain high standard of discipline expected from the Security department.
•  Ensure post orders are kept up to date and are aligned with this procedure and that access control security officers have a clear understanding of their roles and responsibilities accordingly.
• Ensure proper management and archiving of all authorized gate passes
• Ensure access control and search procedures and related policies are in line with company objectives and all applicable laws.
• Ensure all items brought on site are properly declared as per site standards.
• Monitor access control and resolve anomalies.
• Supervise visitor management system operations
• Direct Physical Supervision of Arm Secure Checkpoint officers
• Responsible for all safety related Matters at checkpoints.
• Verification and approval of all Gate passes presented at checkpoints.
• Hardcopy Filling and Digital Capturing of all Gate passes.

To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:

• Grade 12 School Certificate
• Certificate in security or social science related discipline.
• At least 2 years’ experience in security Surveillance and access control operations is an added advantage.
• Must be computer literate.
• Knowledgeable in Access control systems i.e. Xtime, Genetec will be added advantage
• Proven ability to deliver results and act as a change agent.
• Experience in physical and automated Access control will be an added advantage
• Must be computer literate
• A valid driver’s license (manual)
• Advanced knowledge of Excel
