Reporting the Engineering Manager, You will be responsible to Lead a team of Process Plant Maintenance personnel, Reliability Team for all aspects of maintenance of the process plant and associated infrastructure including interfacing with all other disciplines necessary for safe and efficient production of copper in concentrate. Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:
- Responsible for Mechanical and Electrical Maintenance, Engineering, Reliability and Planning sections.
- Ensure compliance with Reliability and Planning forecasts by regular monitoring and control and acting to correct negative deviations in Maintenance.
- Establish short, medium and long-term budgets to accurately forecast the production performance and efficiency of the Process Department Business unit.
- Lead the positive and effective implementation of LMC’s OH&S policy and procedures and overarching statutory requirements.
- Lead compliance with LMC’s environmental and social policies and procedures.
- Review/develop/implement and lead Barrick’s Maintenance teams and OEMs maintenance.
- Lead and ensure the achievement of the availability, reliability targets and all contractual obligations are met.
- Responsible for management, preparation of detailed and realistic maintenance work schedules.
- Mentor, provide training for subordinates and ensure development of succession plans and staff development programmes.
- Responsible for Planning and executing Planned Shutdowns on all equipment.
- Lead and manage maintenance teams and associated Planned and Unplanned works.
To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical engineering
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in maintenance and engineering in the mining industry.
- Must have extensive experience in fixed plant maintenance and OEMs management.
- Must have extensive experience in the use of a recognized Maintenance Management Systems.
- Demonstrated ability to motivate, lead teams of highly skilled and experienced personnel having diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Must have detailed knowledge of LMC’s HSE Systems, supervises compliance and displays leadership in driving incident free operations.
- Demonstrates empathic leadership qualities, ability to provide sound direction and inspiration to work team to achieve desired outcomes.
- Prior experience in similar roles will be added advantage
