Must have at least a Master’s degree in Applied Biological Sciences or related fields.
 Must have at least 5 years post work experience in a University science laboratory or in
industry.
Responsibilities and Attributes
 The incumbent should have knowledge of the basic laboratory experience, including safety
regulations and aseptic technics.
 Should have knowledge of the instruments used in plant sciences laboratories including
plant biotechnology, plant pathology, weed sciences, plant physiology, agronomy,
entomology and plant breeding laboratories.
 Strong application of modern technologies in plant sciences research.
 Evidence of team leadership will be an added advantage.
 Evidence of resource mobilization and procurement experience will be also an added
advantage.
 He or she will be expected to work as a team member in all departmental and faculty
activities.
 Should be prepared to work with students and researchers in the department.
 Oversees management and inventory of all departmental infrastructures including
laboratory equipment, vehicles, office and teaching facilities.
 Any other duties as may be assigned by the Chairperson of the Department.
