Qualifications and Experience
- A minimum of a BSc Honors Degree in Marketing from any recognised University with preferably over five (5) years of proven experience in handling marketing, fundraising, events and social media marketing;
- Experience of working in a University set up;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Experience in digital marketing, social media, and content marketing;
- Familiarity with SEO, SEM, and data analysis tools;
- Possession of a Digital Marketing Certificate would be an added advantage
Duties and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Director, Advancement and Public Affairs, the Marketing Officer will be responsible for, but not limited to the following;
- Establishing mutually beneficial collaborations with leading corporate organisations, individuals, potential partners, development organisations and Agencies;
- Collaborating with marketing team to develop and execute effective strategies to promote the University brand while attracting students, staff and partners to the University;
- Drafting and Maintaining an Engagement and Marketing Events Calendar;
- Attending partner events;
- Planning and hosting fundraising events including writing request letters;
- Assisting in creating effective strategies for social media marketing campaigns and reports;
- Helping maintain brand consistency across all marketing channels and communications;
- Overseeing Alumni relations and maintaining an alumni database;
- Monitoring social media channels and engage with followers to enhance brand visibility and engagement;
- Staying updated on higher education and industry trends and best practices to ensure the University’s marketing efforts remain competitive;
- Conducting market surveys, pilot testing of products and services and prepare regular reports on marketing metrics and KPIs, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
