Reporting to the Coordinator Production Geology, you will be responsible for the provision of all production related activities and the interface with the mine planners, mine supervisors and metallurgical engineers to optimize the profitable development of the Lumwana ore bodies and supervise the ore control activities to ensure optimal feed grade material is delivered to the process plant. Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:
- Ensure all production reconciliations (mineable block to model (GCO), ore block planned to actual, crusher feed to plant, etc) are being carried on a daily, weekly, monthly and yearly basis and disseminated to all designated personnel and the appropriate actions are being taken to rectify any reconciliation issues.
- Keep open and clear communication channels with the metallurgists’ engineers to ensure ore characteristic information i.e. grade, hardness, recovery, upgrade factors, etc for feed material is being shared to improve recoveries and throughputs.
- Production personnel are correctly managing the collection of all geological data i.e. sampling (assay, gamma logger & met). Evaluating the data and making recommendations on how to improve the feed grade, maximise recovery and throughput in the process plant.
- Geology supervisors are complying with their daily responsibilities i.e. Ore spotting, mark-ups are clear, communicating clearly with mine supervisors, supervising daily face sampling, sending off the daily crusher Ore feed on time, etc.
