The Senior Front Developer plays a crucial role in shaping the future of our mobile applications using React Native. They are responsible for crafting and implementing robust feature on the app, maintaining required performance on high/low-end devices, contributing to our product’s seamless functionality, and ensuring high-quality code through test-driven development.

Collaborate with a dynamic team to design, develop, implement React Native mobile app architecture and feature solutions.

Build, optimise, and maintain React Native code quality, ensuring the app’s performance meets quality standards.

Actively contribute to continuous improvement by participating in code reviews, pair programming, and knowledge sharing, ensuring best practices in React Native development.

Develop, maintain, and improve documentation for both code and processes to ensure smooth collaboration within the team.

Proactively identify bottlenecks, bugs, and performance issues, and devise solutions to these problems.

Seamlessly integrate the React Native app with backend systems, ensuring data consistency, real-time updates, and efficient API calls.

Continuously update skills and knowledge, staying abreast of the latest trends, best practices, and updates in the React Native and mobile app development ecosystem.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS POSITION?

• Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology – Hold a BS or MSc. degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or an equivalent industry qualification.
• Have at least 3+ years of React Native development experience, with 1 of those years in a senior role.
• Hands-on experience with XCode (iOS) and Gradle (Android) configuration.
• Experience with native code (Objective-C, Swift, Java or Kotlin) is beneficial but not mandatory.
• Experience in creating and setting up test environments from scratch.
• Exposure to security testing, including vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.
• Understanding of DevOps principles and experience working in DevOps-focused environments.
• Experience with doing Fullstack work and a desire to do so at Pyypl as well.
• Passion for Products – Demonstrate a genuine passion for mobile app development and creating user-centric products.
• Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment – Experience in setting up pipelines for mobile applications is good to have.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, facilitating smooth cross-functional collaboration.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Proven experience collaborating with security teams and communicating security-related findings to development teams.
• Familiarity with Debugging & Monitoring tools (Sentry, Crashlytics)
• A strong Testing and QA mindset, curiosity to understand the big picture and end-to-end workflows, and desire to improve all the internal processes.
