Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Feature Analyst to join our dynamic team in Johannesburg, South Africa. As a Feature Analyst, you will play a crucial role to deliver value in the form of business outcomes by collaborating within the feature team and key stakeholders. You will responsible for ensuring that requirements map back to the business value and that the entire feature team knows what and how they are implementing towards the desired requirement.

  • Capture and keep the business and data rules up-to-date.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams comprised of product management, /UX, technology, support, testing and other subject matter experts to gather and analyse functional needs and user story requirements.
  • Ensure that where stories are blocked, these stories are identified for prioritisation to other iterations and new stories identified to replace them in the current iteration
  • Manage the stories (in JIRA), ensuring that all requirements are loaded as stories, Tasks and that the stories are assigned/linked to epics.
  • Work ahead of the team to get clarity on some (not all) requirements before the next iteration.
  • Work with users to develop acceptance criteria or high level test cases for the system.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field
  • Certificate in Business Analysis (advantage)

Experience

  • 1-3 years of experience in requirements elicitation, gathering, documentation, and management
  • 3-4 years of experience in practical experience in working in a variety of business areas within IT.
  • Understanding and experience of the various disciplines within IT and how they relate to each other.
  • Proven ability to understand complex technology landscapes.  
  • Strong understanding of Agile working practices, LEAN, and SCRUM methodologies
  • Proven experience working collaboratively across teams in an agile environment
  • Experience within an IT team in a bank or large organization
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Excellent organizational skills with a keen eye for detail
  • Experience with cloud-based systems and technologies
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple projects simultaneously
