Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:
- Conduct detailed geological mapping and logging of blast holes and benches.
- Implement and manage the ore control sampling process, ensuring high-quality sampling and data integrity.
- Perform geological interpretations and update orebody models.
- Coordinate closely with mine planning, drilling, and production teams to facilitate ore extraction and dilution control.
- Maintain accurate and timely geological records, databases, and reports.
- Identify and communicate geological risks to management, recommending strategies to mitigate potential impacts.
- Participate in audits and quality assurance programs to continuously improve geological practices.
To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:
Full Grade 12 School Certificate
Degree in Geology, or related field.
Proven experience in mining associated with large open cut mines and grade control.
Proficiency in geological modeling software (e.g., Leapfrog, Datamine, Surpac, or Vulcan).
Be familiar with mining in large open cut mines and knowledge of their management principles and philosophies would be advantageous.
Be physically fit and be able to pass pre-employment medical examinations.
Good planning and organizational skills.
High level of responsibility and shows accountability for own actions.
Must have excellent written and oral communication skills in the English language.
Must be computer literate with exposure to Microsoft Office programs.
Hold a valid Zambian driver’s license.
