Educational Qualifications:
Essential:
First university degree in veterinary medicine or related area.
Desirable:
Advanced university degree (master’s level) in public health, tropical medicine, epidemiology, or a related field
Experience
Essential:
- A minimum of five years of relevant work experience at the subnational, national and international levels in public health, including on local programs for the prevention and control of zoonotic diseases.
- Proven experience in preparedness and response to epidemics, pandemics, disasters, and other health emergencies.
Desirable:
- Experience in the development and management of multi-partner projects.
- Experience in collaborating with teams in an international, multi-cultural, multi-disciplinary environment; separated by geographical locations and working under different time-zones.
- Experience working with UN agencies or other relevant international organizations.
Skills/Knowledge:
Essential:
- Excellent drafting and writing skills, with the ability to produce high-quality technical documents.
- Proficiency in reviewing and revising guidelines, handbooks, and technical documents.
- Strong project management skills, including expertise in proposal development and implementation of emergency and developmental projects.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and other relevant software.
- Familiarity with EIOS, EMS2, and other emergency management software.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines.
Desirable:
- Ability to maintain a positive and flexible problem-solving approach with a can-do attitude.
- Commitment to implementing the goal of gender equality by ensuring the equal participation and full involvement of women and men in all aspects of work.
