Job description

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve growth targets in the commercial farmer segments.
  • Seed sales to commercial farmers
  • Conduct regular field visits to assess agronomic practices, provide technical support, and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Work closely with commercial farmers to understand their unique agricultural challenges and needs, offering tailored solutions.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with growers and distributors to promote the company’s product range.
  • Market development, agronomy and after-sales service of the company’s product basket.
  • Conduct product presentations, trainings, demonstrations, and field trials to showcase the benefits of our solutions.
  • Conduct strip trials and product development of new varieties in the area of operation
  • Monitor market trends, customer feedback, and competitor activity to inform sales strategies and product development.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop promotional materials and campaigns aligned with sales objectives.
  • Provide training and support to the sales team on agronomic practices and product features.
  • Ensure product visibility and placement in strategic arming blocks around Zambia
  • Be a focal point of query and complaint management.
  • Implementation of digital strategy with the stakeholders under the commercial sector

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Agronomy, Agricultural Science, Agriculture Business Management or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in sales or agronomy-related roles, preferably within the agricultural industry.
  • Motor Vehicle Drivers License (Minimum 2 Years of Driving as per Insurance Regulations)
  • Must be a Member of Agricultural Institute of Zambia (AIZ)
  • Strong understanding of crop production, agronomic practices, and market dynamics.
  • Knowledge in Plant Breeding & Crop Agronomy is essential
  • Competent Strip Trials Data Analysis & Reporting is essential
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with customers and stakeholders.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth.
  • Assertive team player, Lobbyist, and able to manage strategy implementation
  • Ability to analyze data, identify opportunities, and propose effective solutions.
  • Willingness to travel for customer visits and field assessments.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
