To support the Tariff Regulation & Planning team in analyzing tariff-related data, compiling reports, and assisting in regulatory submissions. The role provides hands-on experience in utility pricing, economic modelling, and stakeholder engagement within Uganda’s electricity regulatory framework.

The Graduate Trainee will play a supportive role in tariff development and data management. This position fosters technical growth in utility economics and regulatory affairs, laying the foundation for a future career in tariff analysis and planning.
Key Result Areas (KRAs)
• Assist in gathering and preparing tariff-related data, including electricity consumption, demand trends, and customer categories.
• Support the development of models and spreadsheets to analyze financial and operational impacts of proposed tariffs.
• Conduct basic research on ERA regulations, market developments, and regional trends in electricity pricing.
• Assist in drafting and formatting documents required for tariff filings and regulatory submissions.
• Contribute to the preparation of demand forecasts and financial scenarios under supervision.
• Support the maintenance of databases and forecasting templates used by the department.
• Prepare presentation materials and briefing documents for meetings with internal teams and external stakeholders (e.g., ERA).
• Participate in stakeholder meetings and note-taking for follow-up actions.
• Draft summaries, charts, and visual reports on tariff proposals and impact assessments.
• Support the Manager in compiling responses to queries from internal departments and regulators.

Person Specifications
Academic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Statistics, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related discipline from a recognized university
• Must have graduated within the last three (3) years
Experience
