The Financial Control Accountant – Wallet Operations will be responsible for designing and implementing procedures, frameworks, and controls within the wallet system to mitigate operational and financial risks. The role includes tracking and analyzing agent transaction behaviour to prevent income leakage through irregular commission payouts, and providing technical leadership for
all wallet-related operations across the Bank3
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES /KEY DELIVERABLES
Lead the design and oversight of the Bank’s wallet control environment, including controls to monitor and track agent transaction behaviour and prevent income leakage through commission fraud.
Prepare and present data driven Digital Financial Services (DFS)related reports
to key stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with regulatory reporting guidelines under the National
Payment System (NPS) guidelines.
Serve as the central repository for all financial and management information related to the Bank’s wallet operations.
Provide technical and functional leadership on all wallet-related projects.
Plan and lead the external & internal audit cycles of the bank’s wallet.
Analyze agent data to identify trends, patterns, and potential anomalies.
Develop wallet automated reporting and dynamic dashboards based on agent
behaviour.
Write, design and develop queries that analyze agent data in the wallet system.
Design daily, weekly and monthly wallet checklists that monitor and track
wallet operations to ensure the bank doesn’t lose money.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES REQUIRED
A good first Degree
In-depth experience in wallet operations
Minimum of 2 years relevant experience in wallet operations with a demonstrable track record in the control environment.
Excellent communication, business presentation and analytical skills with
good general knowledge of wallet operations and controls.
Ability to analyze and evaluate data in a wallet environment for acceptability and correctness.
Excellent interpersonal skills required in liaising with people at different levels
within the bank.
Excel PostBank lent planning and organisation skills.
Ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
Relevant stakeholder management experience along with strong decision
making and problem-solving skills
Experience in partner engagements
Experience of meeting reporting requirements of the National Payment
Systems Act
Attention to detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Proficiency in data analysis tools, such as Excel, SQL, or programming
languages like Python or R.
Critical thinker- Ability to analyze information, agent tariff guide objectively
and make reasoned judgment.
