ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

• Domain knowledge:
  • Deep understanding of technology’s role in advancing social impact.
  • Experience engaging with public or development sector clients, particularly in LMIC contexts.
• Technical skills:
  • 5+ years of experience across full-stack, data, or AI/GenAI engineering roles, with team leadership responsibilities.
  • Proficiency in one or more of: Python, SQL, JavaScript/TypeScript, and frameworks like React, FastAPI, LangChain, Axios, etc.
  • Strong foundation in software development principles, solution architecture, and agile methodologies.
  • Ability to translate high-level problem statements into robust, scalable technical architectures.
  • Experience with data engineering, cloud deployment, and web application design.
• Project & team leadership:
  • Proven ability to manage complex, cross-functional technical projects.
  • Experience resolving blockers, ensuring code quality, and improving team velocity.
  • Skilled in mentoring junior developers and promoting a culture of collaboration and continuous learning.
• Communication and Collaboration:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Comfortable engaging clients and stakeholders, understanding evolving needs, and adjusting technical direction accordingly.

• DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Prior experience working in development contexts or LMIC settings.
  • Familiarity with GenAI tools, machine learning algorithms, and their application in decision support tools.
  • Understanding of UX/UI principles for user-friendly product development.
  • Experience contributing to technical thought leadership or open-source communities.
  • Strong business acumen and experience contributing to technical sections of proposal development.
  • Ability to balance business needs with technical feasibility, driving results in resource-constrained environments.
