Major Function:
Providing compassionate and holistic healthcare to patients under your care.
Tasks and responsibilities
Clinical Practice:
· Conduct comprehensive clinical evaluations during consultation and administer appropriate evidence-based treatment, as well as recommendation for pharmacological and other specialised management.
· Conduct and coordinate well informed referrals for patients requiring external and more specialised care
· Supervise the dispensation of drugs to patients as prescribed, and to educate patients concerning drug use, effects and side effects at every dispensation
· To take part in ward rounds and rotations as designated, and to assist in patient management during those ward rounds using evidence-based practice.
· Conduct patient education to all patients and care givers to ease and enable their patient journey while at the health center.
· They ensure adherence to infection control measures, including proper sterilization of equipment.
· Maintaining confidentiality, respecting patient autonomy, and adhering to professional standards are crucial.
Health Administration:
· Participate in the planning and budgeting for healthcare services when called upon
· Account for allocated medical and other organizational resources.
· Take part in continuous medical education sessions organised at the Health Centres.
· Provide mentorship and support to other staff members, including continuous professional development.
· Support management team to develop work plans, proposals and coordinate health activities for the development of the health Center.
· Provide weekly work station reports to the manager
· They maintain accurate and proper records of all medical activities
Community Health:
· Participate in healthcare outreach activities organised by ROTOM Health centres and provide clinical expertise as required.
Person Specification
Essential skills and qualification
· Bachelor of Science in Clinical Medicine, with at least two years of experience in employment and clinical practice.
· Must hold a valid AHPC practicing licence.
· Basic computer skills and good experience with the use of computerised healthcare management system.
· The field of medicine is constantly evolving, so a commitment to ongoing professional development and staying up-to-date with new knowledge and technologies is important
Desirable skills
· Knowledgeable with skills of evidence-based practice in contemporary medicine and clinical techniques, and the multidisciplinary healthcare modal.
· Demonstrable skills in frailty and care for the elderly patient.
· Technical problem-solving ability with keen attention to the health needs facing elderly persons.
· Communication and Interpersonal Skills:
· Effectively communicate with patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals. This includes active listening, clear explanation of medical information, and compassionate communication.
Personal Attributes
· Aged between 22 to 45 years.
· Demonstrates competence in team work, and good time management.
· Adheres to professional and ethical conduct and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
· Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and stakeholders.
