Major Function
Providing accounting support to the Finance and Administration function
Key Duties and responsibilities.
Accurate Financial Record Keeping:
- Receive requests and write cheques
- Post transactions in quick books.
- Update cheque register book with deposits and withdraws daily
Supporting Financial Reporting:
- Collect bank statements for the respective ROTOM bank accounts every end-month
- Prepare timely, monthly bank reconciliation
· Manage cash and bank balances to ensure that reports are accurate and up-to-date
Ensuring Efficiency and Compliance:
· Receive and receipt all cash received at ROTOM office
· Requisitioning, maintaining and disbursing petty cash
· Withdraw and deposit cash on respective ROTOM accounts
· Following up on accountability of disbursed funds.
· Supporting he audit process
Person Specification
Essential Skills and Qualification
· BSc/Bachelor of Accounting, Finance or relevant field
· Familiarity with finance and accounting regulations
· Good math skills and the ability to spot numerical errors
· Knowledge of basic bookkeeping procedures
· Hands-on experience with MS Excel and accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks)
· Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information
Desirable Skills
· Ability to perform tasks with accuracy and attention to detail, as errors can have significant consequence.
· Adaptability and a willingness to learn new technologies and regulations are important.
· Maintaining a high level of professionalism, ethical conduct, and trustworthiness is crucial in the accounting profession.
· Keeping up with the latest accounting standards, regulations, and technologies is crucial for the role.
