WWF International expanded its global Youth Engagement Programme for 18–30-year-olds in 2024.
The Programme, which provides volunteering, internships, grassroots leadership training and virtual
mentorship opportunities, aims to inspire a new generation of environmental advocates and leaders,
especially young women, in their countries and communities to actively contribute to youth and
community-led conservation and help drive positive change.

1. MISSION OF THE DEPARTMENT
The intern will work together with the Project team to incorporate sustainable food system approaches within
the general implementation framework for specific projects.
● Undertake economic analysis of agricultural interventions to demonstrate their profitability and
contribution towards the overall conservation objectives and agenda of WWF.
● Provide technical knowledge and advice on agricultural practices and components that yield best
results in line with the organization’s ambitions of a ‘low carbon development pathway.’
● Prepare activity concept notes and reports.
● Work with the project team to review reports and provide feedback.
● Participate in project field activities and collaboration with partners; generating learnings that can be
incorporated into the project.
● Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Land use & Management, Agriculture and Rural
Innovation; Agricultural Economics, Forestry, Agroforestry, or any related field.
● 0- 2 years of experience post-graduation.
● Good computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft office applications.
● A willing and quick learner with a desire for knowledge and skill acquisition.
● Basic knowledge and skills in data analysis and report writing.
● Comfortable working and engaging with rural community members.
● Able to work within teams, with an innovative mindset to spur action
● Fluency in Runyakitara is an added advantage.

The Forests and Biodiversity program strives to ensure that forest landscapes are restored and they
provide the ecosystem goods and services to the communities and local population; while ensuring respect
for human rights and conservation that will spur development in the country.
● You will work closely with the WWF Uganda staff, both in the operational and technical teams to
deliver project objectives.
● In consultation with the Project team, you will liaise with the project partners and stakeholders on
aspects of program implementation.
