Position: HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGER
Report to: Deputy Vice Chancellor – Administration and Business Development

A. Position Purpose
Plan, Initiate, develop, review, and implement HR systems and processes in line with the University HR Policy consistent with the University strategic plan and the laws of Uganda.
B. Key Responsibilities:
- Talent Acqisition following approved policies and procedures
- Onboarding and Orientation of staff
- Performance and Reward Management
- Staff Training and Development – Ensure comprehensive training and capacity building programmes in liaison with the Top Management
- Compliance with university policies, regulations, strategies, labour and employment laws
- Staff Evaluation
- Discipline and Grievance handling
- Benefits and Compensation Management
- Payroll Management
- Development of a human resource automated Information
Management Systems and ensure proper utilisation - Exit Management
D. Required Qualifications and Experience
- A good Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or Business Administration HR option or Industrial and Organisational Psychology or Arts, Social Sciences or Management.
- A Master’s degree in Human Resources Management or Business Administration HR option or Industrial and Organizational Psychology.
OR At least a Master’s degree in arts, Social Sciences, Management with a post graduate Diploma in Human Resources Management. - A professional qualification in Human Resources Management will be an added advantage.
- Good at HR Information Systems Management and Computer
Literacy such as MS Office Packages like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

At least ten (10) years post Bachelors administrative and human resource experience, four (4) of which should be at the level of a senior managerial position or equivalent rank in a large reputable organisation.
Tenure of Appointment:
The appointment is a four-year contract, renewable subject to a probation period of six months.
