CALL FOR APPLICATIONS

About Restless Development

Restless Development is a global non-profit agency. We support the collective power of young leaders to create a better world. We are independently registered and governed in nine countries (India, Nepal, Sierra Leone, Tanzania, Uganda, UK, USA, Zambia and Zimbabwe) bound together by our vision for youth power. We run youth-led programmes to tackle the issues that young people care about the most –  We also run the Youth Collective – a growing network of over 4000 local youth civil society groups and organizations in 185 countries. We are committed to creating an agency that walks the talk on power shifting, using the power shifting checklist, both internally and externally.

Our approach to safeguarding

Restless Development considers the welfare and protection of children, young people and vulnerable adults to be an organizational imperative with primacy over the success of programmes or strategic objectives. We recognize that safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility and we expect all of our staff, volunteers and partners to ensure we protect the communities in which we operate from harm and abide by our
Safeguarding Policy
.

What Is SHE SOARS?

SHE SOARS (Sexual and Reproductive Health & Economic Empowerment Supporting Out-of-school Adolescent Girls’ Rights and Skills) is a seven-year project funded by Global Affairs Canada and implemented by CARE Canada, Restless Development, and the Center for Reproductive Rights (CRR), among other partners. It works to improve Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) and economic opportunities for out-of-school adolescent girls in Kenya, Uganda, and Zambia.

Join the second Cohort of the SHE SOARS Youth Advisory Board (2025–2028)

Are you a passionate youth leader from Kenya, Uganda, or Zambia with experience in the SHE SOARS project? Do you want to shape local, national and regional SRHR policy, strengthen youth engagement, and ensure the sexual and reproductive health rights of girls  and women are meaningfully prioritized? This is your opportunity to take the lead!

About the Youth Advisory Board (YAB)

The Youth Advisory Board is a fully youth-led structure established to promote Meaningful Youth Engagement (MYE) across the SHE SOARS project. YAB members advise on program design, implementation, evaluation, and advocacy, ensuring the voices of young people directly impacted by the project are heard and respected.

This second YAB cohort (2025–2028) will carry forward the work of the pioneering youth leaders who established the foundation of this governing body.

Who Are We Looking For?

We are recruiting ONE young leader per country (Kenya, Uganda, Zambia) to serve on the second cohort of the SHE SOARS Youth Advisory Board. You must meet the following criteria:

  • Aged 18–22 at the time of application
  • Proven experience working with the SHE SOARS project (At Least 1 year)
  • Available to commit 20 hours per month from September 2025 to August 2028
  •  A strong background in adolescent Sexual and reproductive Health interventions(ASRH), youth advocacy, or community development
  • Affiliated with or emerging from a youth-led organization, group, or collective within the SHE SOARS consortium in the respective county
  • Committed to feminist, intersectional, and anti-oppressive values
  • Willing to work collaboratively and engage in decision-making spaces
  •  Able to attend virtual meetings and communicate in English
