Responsibilities
- Scan the market landscape and gather market intelligence information to facilitate planning of a superior network.
- Analyze network statistics, marketing and market intelligence information, and prepare network plans for coverage and capacity to position Airtel to provide superior network experience.
- Continuously evaluate current network plans and replan and redesign the network to meet evolving customer network experience requirements.
- Carry out technical Site Surveys.
- Prepare detailed site radio BoQ.
- Verify quotations from vendors and prepare budget requests for new sites and upgrades.
- Verify Cell design data for site integration.
- Review Network performance reports and ensure that the MS partner maintains the KPIs above Airtel targets.
- Ensure that essential services of voice and SMS are of very high quality for good customer experience.
- Review Network performance reports and follow up the MS partner maintains the KPIs above Airtel targets; and ensure that HD voice experience is maintained across the network.
- Review Network performance reports and follow up the MS partner maintains very good data experience for all the data services provided through the mobile network.
- Review solutions from MC/MS partners.
- Occasionally join network drive tests.
- Review DT reports and output network optimization actions.
- Support Quality team with optimization solution to resolve customer complaints.
- Regularly review network traffic and issue capacity upgrade plans to MS to optimally deploy network resources in grow/degrow process.
- Obtain and review quarterly NCP reports from RAN vendors and plan for nodes (BSC & RNC) expansion where required.
- Project management.

Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in either Telecommunications engineering or Electronics Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Network planning and Optimization.
- Strong understanding of GIS tools, Microsoft office excel, PowerPoint and access.
- Strong practical skill of traffic engineering.
- Ability to use network planning tools eg Planet and geolocation tools.
- Ability to perform and verify frequency plans.
- Ability to use OSS software and fetch, analyse and create statistics reports.
- Excellent knowledge of Huawei and ZTE RAN equipment- BSC, RNC, BTS, NodeB, eNodeB, gNodeB.
- Good Understanding of the Air Interface (Um & Uu etc).
