Job purpose
The Talent Coordinator is a key member of our global Talent  team, supporting recruitment, HR administration, and team communication. This role suits a highly organized, analytical, and people-focused professional who enjoys creating smooth HR processes, supporting teams, and uncovering insights from people data to inform decision-making.
You will work closely with the Talent Manager and broader Talent team to ensure consistent, high-quality HR operations across multiple countries.

Duties and responsibilities
1. Recruitment Support

  • Coordinate end-to-end recruitment logistics, including interview scheduling, candidate pipeline management, and timely communication with applicants.
  • Support hiring managers throughout the recruitment process by providing updates, guidance, and documentation.
  • Post job openings, maintain recruitment trackers, and manage candidate records to ensure data accuracy.
  • Analyze recruitment metrics to identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and support strategic decision-making.

2. HR Administration & Operations

  • Respond to employee questions via AskHR Slack and escalate issues as appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate employee data in BambooHR and support timely record-keeping.
  • Assist with onboarding and offboarding logistics, ensuring a smooth employee experience.
  • Support global Talent initiatives, including communications, policy updates, and process rollouts.

3. HR Analytics

  • Collect and analyze HR data related to recruitment, retention, and engagement to identify trends and support decision-making.
  • Generate basic reports and dashboards to highlight patterns, risks, or opportunities for process improvements.
  • Share actionable insights with managers to inform workforce planning and operational improvements.

4. Culture & Engagement

  • Support initiatives that foster inclusion, belonging, and organizational alignment.
  • Assist with coordination of staff engagement activities and communication rhythms across regions.
  • Help ensure consistent messaging and alignment across global teams.

Qualifications

  • Strong commitment to building a diverse, inclusive workplace that optimizes employee engagement and fosters an inclusive and psychologically safe culture.
  • Diploma in HR with 5–7 years relevant experience or Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field with 3–5 years experience.
  • Experience in HR generalist work, HR administration, Talent Acquisition, or People Operations
  • Understanding of Labor Law, International Labor Organization (ILO) and HR best practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills with excellent interpersonal skills in English + one other local dialect.
  • Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office Products and other software.
  • Highly organized, able to manage multiple priorities, competing deadlines, and time-sensitive tasks.
  • Analytical mindset with ability to identify patterns, trends, and insights from HR data.
  • Experience working across multiple time zones or global teams is an advantage.
  • Cultural sensitivity required

Working Conditions
This position will be based in East Africa preferably in Lusaka, Zambia or Nairobi, Kenya.
Fika offers hybrid work opportunities to employees and this position will be required to work in the Lusaka office and/or on work sites an average of 4 days a week with 1 day remote unless subsequent agreement with management is made. Employment in Nairobi is 100% remote. 5% travel across East Africa may be required; as needed
