Job Title: Sales Representative – Consumer

Reports To: National Sales Manager-Consumer

Duty station: BPIL Head office

Job purpose:

The role is to implement the sales plan and consistently achieve or exceed the sales targets in the Retail and HORECA sales within a defined geographic area for dressed chicken.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Ensure that the frequency and quality of sales calls are achieved and that call objectives are met
  • Relay orders promptly and accurately through to the company
  • Consistently follow up credit customers to ensure up to date payments by all customers as per sales orders delivered.
  • To Monitor and ensure all customers return empty crates back to the Abattoir as used for delivering FMCG products in trade.
  • To coordinate quarterly price research and report relevant findings to the sales manager for decision making purposes.
  • To work hand in hand with the two Key Account Managers and National Sales Manager to ensure that customers are regularly stocked, timely banking is done, shop reports are submitted including general operations and human resource activities within the shops are followed up.
  • Maximise sales volume in assigned areas, recruiting and servicing existing customers by route and ensuring maximum product/ brand visibility/ trade marketing Vs competition is done.
  • Works to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales volumes and UGX/Kg targets.
  • Acquire and recruit new customers/markets as well as servicing existing ones for FMCG Products in the area of operation and expand BPIL customer base so that the Company maximises its sales potential.
  • Collaborate in managing all promotions for FMCG product range to ensure maximum customer satisfaction and monitor competitor activities within the assigned area.
  • Be well informed of customer’s objectives, buying patterns, FMCG ordering trends, standard of management, potential for growth to leverage revenue from the relationship and promote the company as a quality supplier with the aim of achieving “preferred’ supplier status.
  • Feed- back information to management about the Dressed Chicken/FMCG market in area of operation – market trends, competitor activity & pricing, performance of our own products, sales opportunities for other poultry related products or other livestock related products and putting all information in report format for management decisions.
  • Collaborate with the promoters to create demand for the company products.
  • Collaborate and consistently communicate with the team and customers to achieve company objectives.

Any other roles assigned by the supervisor..

Financial Responsibility:

  • Responsible account openings to customers that honour payment obligations

Education:

  • Degree or Diploma in Business Administration, Marketing or related course
  • Prior training in Professional Selling Skills and Customer Care is an added advantage.

Skills and Experience:

  • 3-4 years’ working experience in a similar role in a high performance, commercial environment.
