Purpose of the Job: To assist in teaching courses, conducting assessments, providing support to undergraduate students and providing systems administration services
KEY FUNCTIONS
1Teach undergraduate courses
- Develop course materials and assessments
- Provide academic guidance and support to students
- Engage in scholarly activities such as research, publication or innovation
- Contribute to departmental Institute and community service
- Conduct research and disseminate research findings through conferences, seminars and publications
- Supervise undergraduate students undertaking research projects.
- Conduct seminars and tutorials
- Write proposals for attracting funds to the department
- Participate in meetings, workshops and conferences.
- Perform any other official duties as assigned by the Head of Department
KEY OUTPUTS
- Lectures prepared and delivered to undergraduate students
- Tests, examinations and course works set, marked and results compiled.
- Tests, examinations and course work administered.
- Students undertaking research supervised in line with the Institute’s guidelines and regulations
- Research conducted and research findings disseminated.
- Proposals for attracting funds to the department developed
PERSON SPECIFICATIONS
- Should have a masters’ degree in Education Foundations
- Should have a first class or second class- upper Bachelor’s degree in Education Foundations or related field
- Having knowledge and experience in writing fundable research grants proposal is an added advantage
- Demonstrated computer and communication skills
