provide technical support and carry out routine internal audit engagements, management, supervision,
review and monitoring progress of day-to-day internal audit activities.
b) Key Functions Duties and Responsibilities:
The incumbent will be responsible to the Assistant Commissioner Internal Audit for performing the following
duties
1. Evaluating internal controls to assess level of audit risks and the appropriateness of risk
management policies and procedures.
2. Lead preparation of the audit plans and program for audit activities
3. Perform data analytics to identify unusual patterns or trends and investigate remarkable findings
4. Examine the correctness of financial records and completeness of documents
Review completion of accountability returns, verify and retire advances
Tasked with the development and execution of supply chain audit of Health commodities to Health
facilities
Compile audit findings and conclusions for discussion with management before making final
quarterly internal audit report.
Make follow up on recommendations that arose in previous audits.
To monitor execution of audit programs including routine financial audit; performance audit, IT
audit and other special audits.
10. To review work papers and documentation.
11. To follow up recommendations from previous audits.
12. Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time
c) Person/Job Specification Qualifications
Applicants should be Ugandans holding an
Honours Bachelor Degree in Finance and Accounting, Business Administration/Commerce with a
with a bias in Accounting/Audit option.
Full professional qualification in Accountancy like ACCA, CPA and CIMA.
Must hold a Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance.
Full membership to the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU) is a MUST.
Possession of additional qualification like CIA or related professional certification will be an added
advantage.
Experiencе
At least five (5) years’ experience in auditing. Preference will be given to those with experience in
audit of donor funded projects and public sector.
Knowledgeable in ICT and experience in use of automated financial management systems is an
added advantage.
