Job description
The function of the role shall be ensuring security and safety of the bank in respect to its premises, assets, staff and its customers.

Ensuring an effective management of the security reception desk at all time by ensuring strict adherence of Bank access protocol by all Bank stake-holders.

Recording observations, information, occurrences and surveillance activities and reporting the same to the Senior Security Officer.

Prevention of losses and damage by reporting irregularities, informing violators of Bank Policy and procedures.

Maintaining a conducive Banking and work environment by undertaking patrolling in the Banking hall and enforcing access to any office by visitors, suppliers or any other stake-holder.

Implementation of Bank measures in protecting employees, business operations, Bank facilities and critical infrastructure against safety & security threats.

Supporting the Senior Security Officer in implementing a structured approach to the governance and implementation of physical security across the Bank Branch network & undertaking relevant work plans & operational objectives.

Inspection of all security and safety equipment & ensuring their full time functionality at all time to meet the Security objectives of the Bank.

In the absence of the Senior Security Officer, the security officer shall undertake the co-ordination of the Bank & Security service providers or other security agencies such as Police to respond to theft, robberies or other potential breach of peace across the Bank.

Monitoring and guiding external security agents attached to the Bank on protocol.

Ensuring that offices are kept under key and lock once not in use.

Alarm system arming and disarming of the Bank on a daily basis.

CCTV monitoring of the bank premises at night.

Supervision of service providers during any maintenance works at the bank.

Monthly random security snap checks on the entire branch network in central and greater Kampala and submit reports.

Customer
- Service Index of your Unit-SLA Head-Office [Target <=90%]
- Growth of Bank active Customers/accounts
- Undertaking Monthly Security Snap checks on security service Providers & timely Report submission.
Process
- Zero incidences of staff & customer complaints on management of security reception desk & Escalations-Maximun-3 Incidence Per Annum:
- Bank service availability (CCTV, Biometric, customer service, guarding etc.)
- Reporting of Occupational safety & security related issues. [Target>=24 Hours
- Audit/Risk/Compliance/ issue resolution rate of department
- Percentage [%] of Audit/Risk/ Compliance issues outstanding for >3 months
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in banking or business related field
- Experience: Minimum of five years’ experience in security operations with experience from the police or armed forces.
- Technical and Soft Skills: Knowledge in basic security procedures, Demonstrate awareness & understanding of the importance of safe & secure working office environment; Familiarity with fire safety, Health and First Aid practices and procedures; Good problem solving, multi-tasking and negotiation skills, High level of analytical; creative skills and investigation skills, Rigor, discipline, and a sense of responsibility; Communication skills (verbal, written and presentation); Networking skills and the ability to build internal and external security relationships (in particular with security organs); Physical fitness; Team player with strong interpersonal skills.
