- Strategy Development: Through exposure visits, workshops and advisory, support WHH’s country offices and partner organizations in developing country strategies, programs and projects that are aimed at nourishing sustainable and resilient food systems.
- Assessment Guidance: In collaboration with WHH’s global technical team, develop guidance, train, advise, and provide hands-on assistance to country offices and partners in conducting local food system assessments.
- Technical Assistance: Through capacity sharing, training, mentoring, workshops and advisory, assist WHH (Global technical team or CO or booth?) and its partner organizations in developing, implementing, monitoring, evaluating, and adapting food system transformation projects and programs.
- Guidance development: Contribute to continuously revise and sharpen upcoming and existing guidance documents on food systems (frameworks, programming-toolkits etc.) based on experiences gained from practical applications and interactions with WHH’s country offices and partner organizations.
- Portfolio development: Guide, support, and build capacity of country teams for new grant developments in relation to food systems. Provide content and quality reviews of project proposals related to food systems at country and regional level.
- Organizational learning: Facilitate learning and internal networking between WHH’s country offices in West and Central Africa and the Caribbean and cross-regionally.
- External representation: Represent WHH’s food systems work in West and Central Africa and the Caribbean in external networks, including institutional and private donors, WHH supporters and members, peer organizations and others upon request. Compile, assess, interpret and communicate specific food systems-related key-data for internal and external use.
Your profile
A relevant university/college degree, e.g. in agricultural economics, international development, social sciences or economics
5-7 years of implementing international cooperation/development projects or programs in the fields of agricultural development, market systems development, and/or multi-stakeholder processes
Familiarity with managing food or market system assessments is required. A good understanding of systemic MEAL methods is a plus.
Familiarity with global, regional and national food system networks a plus.
Profound experience of working in advisory-type roles at country, regional or global level, including excellent competencies in process and workshop facilitation, mentoring, training and program development advisory
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Flexibility and ability to work under pressure
Readiness to receive necessary vaccinations for working in Welthungerhilfe’s program countries
Fluency in English and French is required
