Improved quality of health services at facilities;
- Increased individual health literacy and health seeking behaviours;
- Improved community participation and ownership of health services;
- Strengthened health system at national and sub-national levels.
The tailored and comprehensive package of co-created interventions seeks to fortify the resilience of Liberia’s health system through cultivating leadership and ownership within the Ministry of Health at national and sub-national levels and increase the quality of reproductive health, nutrition, maternal, neonatal, and mental health care services in 25 public health facilities while creating an enabling environment through a gender transformative programming.
The Services of the consultant shall consist of conducting a qualitative and observational study about Waste Management Processes in Medium size and Small Health Facilities in Montserrado, Nimba and Margibi counties aiming at:
- reviewing the environmental protection, safety and labor national legal framework related to the construction/ rehabilitation of WASH and IPCC infrastructure in health care facilities;
- reviewing the waste management system for small and medium-size health facilities (inventory of the waste and environmental cleaning facilities, study of the waste management chain, analysis of current waste management processes and financing in private facilities, documenting the incinerator funcitoning, documenting maintenance processes, etc);
- conducting a qualitative assessment of waste management in the targeted health care facilities (field visits, interviews, data collection and analysis, documenting the challenges, identifying the best infrastructure model, conducting community interviews, etc).
