- Reports to the Head of Clinical Trials Coordination Unit, Africa CDC and Head of Health Programmes, AUDA-NEPAD and works hand-in-hand with other senior technical staff in the unit.
- Lead on the development and implementation of the regulatory solutions as identified in the 10-year road map for optimising the efficiency and impact of the African clinical trial ecosystem.
- Drive analyses (e.g., ethics review systems, regulatory pathways, and systems) and provide inputs for working group decision making and strategy setting.
- Advise on all regulatory and quality control aspects of vaccine research and development, licensing, and post-market surveillance.
- Support implementation of regulatory workstream for PAVM.
- Lead the work of AUDA-NEPAD technical committees on clinical trial oversight and pharmacovigilance.
- Lead the operationalization of Regional Economic Communities (RECs) clinical trials regulation expert working groups.
- Contribute to reporting, presentations, articles, case studies, monitoring and evaluation and other documentation related to clinical trial oversight.
- Support development of projects on AMRHI, operationalization of the AMA entities, RECMRH and resource mobilization.
- Draft key documents (e.g., presentations, technical design document, proposals, briefing notes, Q&A) for internal and external meetings.
- Lead joint internal unit meeting preparation, facilitation, and follow-up (daily/weekly team-wide updates, regular brainstorming sessions, working group-specific meetings, senior management updates) as regards to his/her thematic area.
- Liaise with other senior technical staff to identify and oversee potential synergies between the different thematic areas.
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor(s).
- Minimum Requirements:
- Master’s Degree in Public Health, Business Administration, Public Administration or related field with a total of 7 years’ experience, with a minimum of 2 years working in public health programmes, management consultancy, project management, health care delivery systems, or any other relevant topic. Candidate needs to have at least 3 years of supervisory and managerial experience.

- Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Health Systems Management or a related health field with 10 years of work experience with a minimum of 2 years working in public health programmes, management consultancy, project management, health care delivery systems, or any other relevant topic. Candidate needs to have at least 3 years of supervisory and managerial experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; fluency in English.
