Under the direction supervision of the Priority Populations Prevention team lead, incumbent is a key public health advisor to the Prevention Branch management and CDC South Africa management. The major focus of the position is the development and implementation of strategies for the prevention of HIV in Most at Risk Populations (MARPS), and Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW) with targeted interventions for behavior change in general populations at risk with a specific geographic focus.
The job holder’s responsibilities include day-to-day program and administrative management, and coordination and collaboration with other PEPFAR agencies to ensure that project implementation addresses program strategic objectives and internationally recognized public health standards and best practices.
Qualifications and Evaluations
Experience:
- Minimum of five years of progressively responsible work experience in HIV/AIDS prevention and behavioral related programs, including 2 years of program management experience. Past experience will demonstrate the incumbent’s ability to consult and collaborate effectively with all levels both within and outside the agency.
Education Requirements:
- A master’s level degree in public health, behavioral sciences, or health education is required.
