Job description

General responsibilities

  1. Works in compliance with NRC policies, tools, manuals and guidelines.
  2. Prepare advance reports and other documents related to their function.
  3. Encourages and makes suggestions to promote the improvement of the function.
  4. Ensures that it works taking into account its Work and Development Plan.

Specific responsibilities 

  1. Drive NRC staff in accordance with the established schedule (when traffic conditions permit) while giving priority to the safety of people and property.
  2. Ensure a regular inventory of your vehicle to guarantee the presence of administrative documents (registration card, insurance, technical inspection, etc.), NRC documents (Driving Manual, forms); the tools (spare wheel, jack, ropes, etc.) and equipment (first aid kit, torch, visibility, etc.) required on board.
  3. Responsible for daily and weekly inspection of his vehicle and its contents.
  4.  Report periodic services to your supervisor and any anomalies or needs for maintenance or other repairs.
  5. Responsible for the condition of the vehicle (cleaning) and ensuring that logos and plates are visible.
  6. Responsible for updating the logbook.
  7. Safety management: ensures compliance with the highway code (speed limits) and NRC directives (adaptation of speed according to the condition of the road and when approaching villages and populations).
  8. Ensure vehicle use according to organizational standards.
  9. ensure the fuel supply of your vehicle. 
  10. When transporting goods in the vehicle, he ensures that loading and unloading are carried out correctly. He verifies that the items transported have the necessary documentation; submits the documents to the recipient; checks the condition of the property; submits the duly completed documentation to Logistics.
  11. Responsible for having non-NRC passengers sign the waiver of liability form.

QUALIFICATIONS

General professional skills : 

  • Professional experience as a driver in a support function in a humanitarian context.
  • Previous professional experience in complex and unstable contexts.
  • Proven results on position responsibilities.

Context-specific skills, knowledge and experiences:

  • Knowledge of the social, cultural, economic and legal context of the East and Adamawa.
  • Knowledge of driving in difficult (climatic conditions, road conditions, etc.) and safe locations.
  • Knowledge of French, both oral and written
  • Knowledge of local languages ​​an asset (fulfulde, gbaya, etc.).
