The primary role is to provide technical leadership and support to Research Assistants under longitudinal survey. She will also ensure that quality samples are collected from participants and safely transported to the Zambart lab. Study Nurse will report to the Study Manager at Head Office
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Track progress of Longitudinal Study (LS) activities in the community and clinic level and provide appropriate timely feedback to the Study Manager.
- Oversee storage and transportation of study samples from the site to Head office
- Draw blood from LS participants.
- Identify and address gaps/weaknesses in the LS implementation and suggest a plan for addressing gaps to the Study Manager.
- Work closely with MOH authorities and partners conducting cervical cancer screening, ART delivery etc
- Compile and send weekly stock reports to Study Manager
- Ensure that all required supplies for LS are available.
- Carry out any other duties as may be assigned by the Intervention Manager
- Facilitate weekly meeting for LS team
Requirements
- Registered Nurse/ Clinical Officer
- People management experience specifically study teams
- A minimum of 2 years work experience in a similar position.
- At least 2 years in working in the ART clinic
- Experience in sample collection e.g swabs/blood
- Good social communication skills.
- Knowledge of HIV and HPV research.
- Proficient in word/excel/PowerPoint and ability to use an electronic data capture devices (tablets).
- Fluency in English, Nyanja and Bemba spoken in target community.
- Must be willing to work long hours or as duty demand.
- Excellent communication skills.
