The IFRC intern works in close collaboration with the finance and administration department but also all other support departments and finally all members of the different IFRC premises according to the needs of the department for which he is recruited.
The Finance intern will be responsible for supporting the finance assistants and the entire finance team in monitoring entries and exits within the department. He will also ensure the maintenance of the finance department’s archives after each closing. It will ensure collection and provide support for processing VAT files.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Accounting and financial tasks and responsibilities:
Provide daily support to the finance team in the accounting and financial monitoring of any file that arrives at the Finance Department;
Conduct the financial review of staff supporting documents;
Support the finance department with routine accounting tasks (accounting pre-entry in Excel format);
Ensure the archiving of accounting documents in accordance with IFRC procedures in this area. Ensure compliance with timetables after each closing;
Make copies of all current archives in Yaoundé and the digitized archiving of certain specific documents;
Store current accounting documents and reports in time tables in accordance with IFRC procedures;
Ensure the effective delivery of these times to Dakar.
Ensure that you provide the hierarchy with all the documents required for their work and the storage of archives;
Provide support for the preparation of the VAT file: search for documents, classification, photocopies in support of the logistics and finance departments.
Education
Studies in finance, accounting, economics and/or administration
Bacc+2 at least in the fields of finance, accounting, economics and/or administration
Archiving training or diploma
Experience
At least 1 year cumulative or not of experience in archives management, accounting and record keeping
Experience in a non-governmental organization of a humanitarian and international nature
Experience in accounting, accounting interface and accounting journals
Experience in travel logistics organization and administrative support
Experience in record keeping
Experience with ITC equipment, office equipment, industrial photocopier, HD scanner
Skills in using financial software and Excel
Good knowledge of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.
