Responsibilities:
- Coordinate implementation of gender- sensitive, context tailored and inclusive SBCC strategy and interventions in COVID-19 mass vaccination that fit for targeted group.
- With the support from SBCC advisor, organize and facilitate advocacy workshop, social mobilization, community engagement and communication interventions at project zones, woredas and sites.
- In collaboration with zonal mass vaccination officer, support overall SBCC approach in COVID-19 mass vaccination project areas.
- Coordinate and facilitate the implementation of gender- sensitive and context tailored communication strategies in COVID-19 mass vaccination project sites.
- Coordinate and provide technical support on communication and demand generation activities to project implementation areas.
- Coordinate and support zonal and woreda Communication TWG to develop plans and activities to promote COVID-19 vaccination in low performing communities, IDPs sites, refugee camps and special target groups to increase demand and uptake for COVID-19 vaccine.
- Organize advocacy and social mobilization activities to engage influential leaders, decision makers, and social mobilizers at zonal, woreda and community levels.
- Conduct supportive supervision, on-the-job training, and other capacity building activities to zonal & woreda EPI officers, health workers, social mobilizers and other hotline counselors on demand generation activities including risk communication plan on COVID19 vaccination.
- Coordinate monitoring and evaluation activities for AEFI, demand generation and risk communication activities for the COVID-19 mass vaccine delivery including conducting rapid assessment for awareness, acceptance, hesitancy, and trust around the COVID-19 vaccine project implementation areas.
- Closely work with regional project team to document lessons learned, success stories and best practices.
- And any other activity as requested by the supervisor.
- Minimum Requirements:
Qualification & Experience:
- BSc or higher in public health communications, and or other relevant behavioral/social science field.
- Minimum eight (8) years’ experience in public health programming, policy, or research, with at least five (5) years’ experience in the area of immunization and maternal/child health programs.
- Experience on managing a comprehensive behavior change program.
- Formal training in and demonstrated understanding of theories and frameworks relating to individual behavior change and broader social responses, the evidence base for social and behavioral/communications interventions and best practices.
- Proven ability to create and maintain effective working relationships with government and key stakeholders.
- Skilled in successfully working with geographically dispersed teams and working in a multi-cultural environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team, including cross-cultural teams.
- Substantial experience in social and behavior change programming required.
- Excellent analytical, written, and oral communication skills.
