Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Interior Designer and Decorator with a minimum of 10 years of progressive work experience. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of creating aesthetically pleasing, functional, and innovative interior spaces. As a senior member of our design team, you will be responsible for leading projects from concept to completion, demonstrating expertise in both design and project management.
Responsibilities
- Project Leadership: Take charge of interior design projects, providing creative direction, overseeing the entire design process, and ensuring timely delivery within budget constraints.
- Client Collaboration: Work closely with clients to understand their vision, requirements, and preferences. Translate client needs into design concepts, ensuring a high level of satisfaction throughout the project.
- Conceptualization and Design Development: Develop innovative and unique design concepts, incorporating elements of functionality, aesthetics, and sustainability. Present and refine design proposals based on client feedback.
- Space Planning: Proficiently create and optimize space plans, ensuring efficient use of available space while meeting client expectations and project requirements.
- Material and Furniture Selection: Source, select, and recommend materials, furnishings, and accessories that align with the design concept, client preferences, and budget considerations.
- Budget Management: Responsible for project budgeting, cost estimation, and tracking expenses throughout the design and implementation phases.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with architects, contractors, and other professionals involved in the project to ensure seamless execution and delivery.
- Trend Awareness: Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging materials, and technologies, integrating innovative and contemporary elements into design proposals.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all design work complies with relevant codes, regulations, and industry standards.
- Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior designers, fostering a collaborative and learning-oriented team environment.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Interior Design or related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in interior design and decoration.
- Proven portfolio showcasing a diverse range of successfully completed projects.
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Exceptional project management abilities.
