Program & Agreement Management Support
- Ensure project and program management support, including support to country or project teams in work planning/continuation applications, budget planning, and the monitoring of both.
- Ensure coordination with the PMO for award maintenance efforts in close liaison with Awards Management and the Project Management Office
- Coordinate global support team in prioritizing and following up on country level support
- Support the development, review, and submission of such plans and related reports to donors, as well as be informed on sub-agreement and sub-grantee reports
- Support documentation of best practices and innovations taking place in country and help facilitate south-to-south learning, including programmatic and operational learning
- Ensure effective process and high-quality continuing applications specific to the country program
- Identify and coordinate global support technical assistance for program design, work plan development, reporting, monitoring and evaluation, and operations research, advocating for the needs and concerns of the country program
Strategic Positioning and Business Development
- Contribute to the strategic direction of the country program by facilitating development and implementation of country strategic operating frameworks and actively participate in in program planning and coordination.
- Support the CD in the regular updating and use of country strategic plan
- Support documentation and marketing needs of the country / programs by facilitating processes, coordination and active identification of best practices and innovations taking place in-country.
- Participate in new business development initiatives, including preparation, strategic planning, drafting a narrative, and reviewing, editing and formatting proposal information.
Country Representation, Coordination, and Collaboration
- With a 360-degree understanding of the program, provide coordination of operational, technical, and programmatic technical assistance and support to country programs while serving as informational sources to direct stakeholders to HQ/global information, country program information, contacts, and resources.
- Support day-to-day communications and foster teamwork between country programs and global support
- Respond to internal and external requests about the country program and provide one-stop shop entry for high level country program information, contacts, and resources.
- Participate in and/or lead department meetings, brown bags, and presentations as needed within country teams and global support units. Represent PICM in cross-organizational, cross-functional initiatives.
To be successful, you will have:
- BA/BS in Public Health or a related field
- 4+ years of experience in national and/or international health programs
- Demonstrated leadership in the following competencies: Team building, customer service, and decisiveness.
- Be willing to take at least two (2) international field visits per year; if you’ve traveled to or lived in Africa, we’d love to hear where you’ve been
Bonus points if you have:
- Experience with USG awards, such as USAID, CDC, HHS, or NIH
- USAID contract implementation and management experience
- Portuguese, French, and/or Swahili
