Key Responsibilities of the Executive Commercial Manager:
- Leads the Commercial Department that comprises of Sales, Meetings & Events Sales and Reservations.
- Ensures the smooth running of the Commercial Department, where all aspects of the hotel’s pro-active sales initiatives are delivered, and total revenue maximised.
- Works proactively to improve guest satisfaction and comfort, delivering a positive and timely response to guest enquiries and problem resolution.
- As the HOD of the Commercial Department is responsible to ensure the day to day operations as well as the people leadership roles of training, development and regular assessment.
- Delivers on plans and objectives where sales initiatives & hotel targets are achieved.
- Manages the Commercial Team fostering a culture of growth, development, and performance within the department.
- Responsible for the departmental budget, ensuring that costs and inventory are controlled, that productivity and performance levels are attained.
- Builds and maintains effective working relationships with all key stakeholders.
- Reviews and scrutinizes the business performance, providing recommendations that will drive financial performance.
- Ensures adherence and compliance to all legislation where due diligence requirements and best practice activities are planned, delivered and documented for internal and external audit, performing follow-up as required.
Requirements of the Executive Commercial Manager:
- Degree in a Business-Related Trainings
- Minimum 12 years of experience in Sales with excellent problem-solving capabilities.
- Minimum 5 years’ Experience in hospitality is essential, experience in a 5 Star Hotel is an added advantage.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in people management – experience in leading teams, evaluating staff, developing & training staff.
- Understanding of the Hospitality Market
- Documented managerial skills with a hands-on approach and lead-by-example work style.
