ABOUT THE JOB
We are looking for a Project Coordinator to be based in South Sudan, to coordinate project activities for Groundwater Relief, over the course of the 10-month period. This is a fixed term contract with opportunities for extension.
The Project Coordinator will be responsible for, but not limited to:
- Facilitating the management of all project activities in close collaboration with IOM staff throughout the project duration.
- Facilitating field assessments by consortium members to undertake specific elements of project work.
- Supporting the socio-economic survey in the project areas, through recruitment and coordination of a field team of enumerators.
- Supporting a capacity assessment of key stakeholders and institutional tools used to support disaster risk reduction.
- Working with consortium engineers to conduct environmental surveys and receptor vulnerability mapping across the five counties.
- Working with the IOM and government stakeholder in Juba to obtain data and information to support the assessment.
- Working with the project team to support field validation and facilitating community consultation of various long list options.
- Presentations of long listing options to key stakeholders.
YOUR PROFILE
Essential Skills and Experience
- Fluent in English
- Relevant degree with an MSc or equivalent qualification in Hydrology, Hydrogeology, Engineering or similar.
- Experience in project management.
- A good working knowledge of water resource management or disaster risk management.
- Demonstrable experience in managing international projects, project budgets and delivering effective and timely outputs under pressure.
- Ability to engage with a range of different stakeholders, ideally within the humanitarian and development sector.
- High competency in developing and delivering high quality reports.
- Demonstrable experience delivering complex ideas to non-technical personnel.

You should enjoy interacting and establishing relationships with different stakeholders on both a technical and social level including government officials, humanitarians, and community members.
We are looking for someone who is highly organised and capable of managing and prioritising tasks. Someone who is able to work within a variety of procurement and logistical systems, in order to ensure project deliverables are met within timeframes.
BENEFITS
- Competitive Salary ranging between £3500 to £4000 per month, depending on experience.
- The project will cover all accommodation, travel expenses and will offer a monthly per diem.
- During the project, a rest and recuperation (R&R) period of 2 weeks (including travel time) will be incorporated every 3 months, aligning with the project’s workflow.
