Strengthen capacity of existing sub-national governance mechanisms and structures that play a role in conflict management and peacebuilding.

Strengthen or develop NRM plans in a climate-and-conflict-sensitive way, and gender sensitive or transformative way.

Implement NRM interventions in a manner that contributes to peacebuilding.

Facilitate Inter- and Intra- Communal Peace Dialogue.

Strengthen capacity of CSOs and existing or newly formed community-led groups for peacebuilding and addressing discriminatory gender and social norms.

Support CSOs and community-led groups capacity to support and promote psychosocial wellbeing and social connectedness.

Work with the Consortium Manager  to ensure that capacity building plans for national staff remain relevant and geared towards the overall improvement of quality and sustainable localisation of the Peacebuilding Programme.

Collaborate with local government officials and other peace and security stakeholders at State and County levels to plan and implement project activities, in particular with the Early Warning and Early Response State Technical Teams, County Peace Response Mechanisms and Community Peace Committees.

Raise awareness and take a lead in training communities, government and civil society partners on the Conflict Early Warning Early Response System for South Sudan.

Build capacity through trainings and mentorship on the collection of conflict relevant data, conflict analysis and the design and implementation of responses to prevent violence.

Provide support to Relief and Rehabilitation Commission (RRC) and Community Peace Committees to ensure that conflict early warning data is collected, entered into the CEWERS database and coded correctly.

Provide support to the Inter-Ministerial Committee on Early Warning and Early Response and their Technical Team and County Peace Response Mechanisms to ensure that analysis of early warning data and initiation of early response is carried out in an effective and timely manner.

Engage in local networks, gathering and sharing relevant information in relation to conflict and protection concerns, issues and trends with relevant actors and advocating for action with appropriate stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS

Master’s degree in peace and conflict studies, international relations, development studies, Human Rights or a related field.

Prior experience of working within as Peacebuilding  in an emergency response or fragile state OR participated with good results        Peacebuiling  programme.

Previous experience of working in large-scale first phase emergency response.

Minimum university degree in social work, community development or related field.

minimum of two years work in a relevant field;

General understanding of human rights, governance and peace building principles.

Refined training and facilitation skills, especially in cross-cultural environments.

Proven abilities in managing successful community-based projects.

General understanding of project management and monitoring techniques.

Proven analytical, problem-solving skills and comfortable working under minimal supervision.

Energetic and motivated skills in community mobilization, training, and team building.

Highly organized, efficient, and able to meet key deadlines.

Highly developed inter-personal skills/inter-cultural sensitivity.

Proficient in typing, MS-Word, Microsoft Excel, and email/internet programs; and

Good knowledge of international human rights and humanitarian law, particularly concerning protection of IDPs and refugees.

Extensive experience in capacity building and in strengthening various duty bearers understanding of and response to child protection.

Demonstrated ability to set up monitoring & evaluation systems in large complex programmes.

Experience of senior level representation.

Experience of negotiating successful partnerships with institutional donors.

Experience of working with and supporting government authorities and national NGOs

Proven ability to influence change at an operational and strategic level.

Politically and culturally sensitive with qualities of patience, tact and diplomacy.

A high level of written and spoken English.
