Job description

  • As a Pharmacist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and effective use of medications and providing personalized care to our customers.
  • You will be responsible for dispensing medications, counseling patients on proper medication use, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to optimize patient care.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently, following established protocols and guidelines.
  • Counsel patients on medication usage, dosage instructions, potential side effects, and drug interactions, ensuring understanding and compliance.
  • Collaborate with pharmacologist, pharmacy ass, and other healthcare professionals to optimize medication therapy and improve patient outcomes.
  • Monitor medication therapy for efficacy and safety, making recommendations for adjustments or changes as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medication profiles, allergies, and medical history.
  • Manage inventory levels and medication stock, ensuring adequate supply and proper storage conditions.
  • Conduct medication reviews and consultations with patients to identify and address medication-related issues, such as adherence or therapy optimization.
  • Participate in pharmacy quality improvement initiatives, ensuring adherence to best practices and standards of care.

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) degree from a recognized institution.
  • Additional advantage: Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D) degree.
  • Registered and licensed to practice pharmacy in Nigeria, with a valid pharmacist practicing license.
  • Completion of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working as a Pharmacist in a retail pharmacy setting.
  • Strong knowledge of pharmaceuticals, pharmacology, and drug therapy principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively counsel and educate patients.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in dispensing medications and maintaining records.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on delivering exceptional patient care.
