What you will do:
In this position, you will:
- Line management for all both WASH and Shelter project staff in the Far North regions and local staff if required.
- Manage daily tasks related to human resources, administration, finance, logistics and security of the local office.
- Adherence to NRC policies, guidance and procedures.
- Contribute to the development of Country, Area and WASH – Shelter strategies, initiate and participate in the development of relevant WASH – Shelter projects.
- Coordinate, manage and ensure high quality WASH – Shelter projects implementation (activities, budget and project documentation) in line with proposals, strategies and donor requirements.
- Provide regular progress reports to the Area Manager and the Core Competency Specialist (CCS).
- Ensure that projects target participants most in need of protection, explore and asses new and better ways to assist.
- Develop and manage project budget (in cooperation with CCs) and coordinate across CCs.
- Ensure capacity building of project staff and transfer key skills.
- Liaise and collaborate with relevant local authorities and other key stakeholders.
What you will bring:
- Minimum 3 years of experience from a senior level project implementation position in a humanitarian/recovery context
- Experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
- Technical WASH and Shelter expertise
- Fluency in English and French, both written and verbal
- Knowledge of the Northwest and Southwest regions of Cameroon
- Experience in team capacity building
- Technical knowledge and experience of the behaviour change process in a humanitarian context
- Technical knowledge and experience of the community engagement process in a humanitarian context.
- Experience with construction and management of borehole programme
- Experience with construction and rehabilitation of shelter programme
- Experience with alternative WASH and innovative shelter approaches in a humanitarian context is an asset
- Understanding of SPHERE and INEE Minimum Standards is required
- Candidates with an advanced degree preferred; significant experience in the field of WASH, and/or Shelter is required
