Responsibilities include:
- Maintain effective communications and good relations with project partners and other external entities and individuals, including local media and beneficiaries
- Design activities and opportunities to engage communities to support their children to develop oral language skills and the foundational sub-skills of literacy in the early grades.
- Help design and develop a social and behavior change communication (SBCC) campaign to engage communities in supporting their children to develop early grade reading skills
- Produce project outreach materials, including brochures, leaflets, and other public communications materials for various project events
- Work with journalists, photographers, designers, and celebrities supporting project programming
Qualifications:
- Minimum four years of experience serving as a communications and project management professional on donor-funded projects
- Significant experience developing and executing communications plans and standalone events in collaboration with government ministries and international donor partners
- Experience conducting public outreach campaigns, and engaging local communities, teachers, and parents to deliver program messages
- Proven ability to identify key stakeholders, and engage and facilitate effective dialogue between stakeholders while balancing multiple priorities
- Superb interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills with native Nyanja/Chewa or Bemba, and fluent English
