The Africa Policy Manager will spearhead the development and management of our policy portfolio in Africa, supporting both our Climate and Clean Energy Access programs. Responsibilities include leading engagement with African policymakers, implementing ambitious energy efficiency programs, managing partnerships, fundraising activities, team leadership, and contributing to thought leadership through policy analysis and capacity-building initiatives.

The Africa Policy Manager

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop strategic partnerships with stakeholders in Africa
  • Represent the organization in external forums and events
  • Design and implement energy efficiency programs aligned with organizational goals
  • Support fundraising activities and proposal development
  • Manage a team and oversee program implementation
  • Establish monitoring and evaluation frameworks
  • Contribute to thought leadership through policy analysis and capacity-building programs

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • 7+ years of experience in energy or environmental policy
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, Master’s degree preferred
  • Strong analytical and project management skills
  • Experience managing relationships with clients and funders
  • Proficiency in English; fluency in French preferred
  • Commitment to diversity and inclusion
  • Experience in energy efficiency or clean energy access sector preferred
