Roles and Responsibilities

Under the supervision of a Nutrition Manager, the intern will undertake the following tasks:

  • Support the functioning of the community-based nutrition platform and the delivery of essential nutrition services.
  • Monitor the implementation of the nutrition prevention programme through End User Monitoring and prepare briefs.
  • Support the design and implementation of food systems intervention for improved maternal, Child and adolescent nutrition.
  • Monitor and support the visibility of the nutrition prevention programmatic activities through human interest stories and social media.
  • Attend nutrition section meetings and contribute to programmatic deliberations and agreed actions.
  • Conduct field visits for technical support.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • Enrolled in an undergraduate, graduate or PhD degree program in nutrition, public health, Social Science, Health Education/promotion, or related technical field have graduated within the past two years.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Have excellent academic performance as demonstrated by recent university or institution records.
  • Have no immediate relatives (e.g., father, mother, brother, sister) working in any UNICEF office, and have no other relatives in the line of authority that the intern will report to.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office is required.
  • Good interpersonal, networking and communication skills.
  • Willingness to contribute and work as part of a team.
  • Flexible and open to learning and new experiences.
  • Respect for diversity and adaptability to other cultures and working environments.
  • Fluency in English is required.
