Responsibilities:
- – Serve as the primary point of contact for schoolwide inquiries, feedback, and concerns from families, ensuring timely and personalized responses.
– Act as a liaison between the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) and the school, collaborating with the Director of Marketing to support PTO event organization, logistics, and initiatives.
– Develop protocols and procedures to improve two-way communication between the PTO, wider parent community, and the school, with the aim of addressing parent feedback effectively.
– Work closely with the PTO and relevant school departments to create a welcoming and comfortable environment for parents on campus, including access to programs, spaces, and resources.
– Represent the school at various community-wide and school section events, acting as a familiar face and contact point for families.
– Gather and analyze family feedback to inform engagement and communication strategies.
– Develop and implement strategies to support family retention, including recognition and planning intentional transition events.
– Coordinate an intentional departure program for leaving families, including organizing farewell events and providing transition support.
– Maintain the ICS Alumni Network and develop an alumni engagement strategy, including donor development, fundraising, and the establishment of an endowment.
– Manage alumni engagement on digital platforms and contribute to the creation and publication of the ICS Alumni Newsletter.
– Facilitate partnerships, cooperation, sponsorships, and support opportunities between the school and affiliated organizations associated with the ICS Alumni Network.
– Collaborate with the Head of School on the ICS Foundation.
– Support the Director of Admissions in providing a smooth transition for new families, including hosting community-wide and sectional events to facilitate their integration into the school community.
– Collaborate with the Director of Marketing to align internal and external communication goals with the family experience, supporting communication initiatives and platforms.
– Consult with the Director of Marketing on issues requiring mass email communications or events based on insights gained from parent engagements.
Qualifications:
- – Bachelor’s degree (advanced degree preferred).
– Experience working in the education sector and familiarity with transitions-care and cross-cultural life highly desirable.
– Strong connections with the school and local community, and Amharic language skills are preferred.
– Demonstrated commitment to and understanding of the mission, vision, and educational programs of the school.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and listen to diverse individuals with empathy and sensitivity.
– Experience in building networks and connections on behalf of an organization.
– Highly visible in the school community, actively participating in school programs, activities, and events.
– Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and attention to detail.
– Proficient in technology, with the ability to learn new systems and skills as needed.
– Donor development and fundraising experience highly desirable.
– Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
