Responsibilities:
- Assessment Design and Planning:
- Lead the review and refining of the assessment framework, ensuring alignment with project objectives and local guidelines.
- Develop clear assessment protocols, data collection tools, and sampling strategies to capture relevant information.
- Support recruitment of data collectors proficient in both quantitative and qualitative data collection methods.
- Coordinate logistics for pilot testing of assessment tools, including securing appropriate locations and subpopulations for testing.
- Data Collection and Management:
- Oversee data collection efforts, ensuring the implementation of rigorous methodologies and adherence to ethical standards and protocols.
- Review and refine data collection instruments, surveys, and interview guides tailored to capture key indicators related to immunization behavior.
- Establish robust data management systems to organize, clean, and analyze collected data efficiently.
- Lead the mapping of community stakeholders and key influencers relevant to immunization uptake.
- Monitor data transcription and collaborate with partners on the project for analysis and reporting.
- Data Analysis and Interpretation:
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis of assessment data, employing appropriate statistical methods and analytical techniques.
- Interpret findings to identify trends, patterns, and underlying factors influencing immunization uptake within target communities.
- Lead the preparation of analytical reports and presentations summarizing assessment findings for diverse audiences, including project stakeholders and partners.
- Co-creation & implementation of SBC activities:
- Develop a dissemination plan and tools to share assessment findings with key stakeholders.
- Co-facilitate meetings to co-create solutions using Human-Centered Design and Systems Thinking approaches.
- Co-design intervention plan with detailed activities and a monitoring, evaluation, learning, and adaptation framework aimed at addressing identified barriers to immunization.
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and outcome measures to monitor project activities and assess their effectiveness over time.
- Co-design monitoring tools and systems to collect routine data for ongoing project management and adaptive learning.
- Facilitate learning sessions and reflection workshops to review project progress, identify lessons learned, and make recommendations for future interventions.
Qualifications:
- Advanced degree (master’s or PhD) in Public Health, Epidemiology, Statistics, Social Sciences, or a related field.
- Proven experience leading monitoring and evaluation activities for complex public health or development projects, preferably in low-resource settings.
- Expertise in research methodologies, including both quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis techniques.
- Proficiency in statistical software packages (e.g., SPSS, STATA, R) and qualitative analysis tools (e.g., NVivo, MAXQDA).
- Strong understanding of monitoring and evaluation frameworks, logic models, and theory of change approaches.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
- Fluency in English and French as well as relevant languages spoken within the project area may be an advantage.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, including project management, team coordination, and strategic planning.
- Experience working with international organizations, government agencies, or NGOs on health-related initiatives is desirable.
