JTI has an Agronomy Development and Extension Training (ADET) center located in Chisamba, Zambia, where prospective Agronomy Technicians can primarily learn about tobacco production extension services for small scale growers and rotational cropping programs.
ADET is enrolling Agronomy Technician Trainees to commence training on August 1, 2024.
The program details are as follows:
The duration of the training is ten (10) months.
The trainees will be provided with accommodation, meals and training.
What you will do during the program:
The program is based on both, theoretical and practical training in tobacco production, with the following fundamental learning activities:
Leaf Production Planning
Leaf Production Integrity
Seedbed management
Fields management
Curing
Grading and presentation
Leaf quality
Agricultural Labor Practices (ALP)
Soft Skills (Communication, Negotiation, etc.)
Who we are looking for:
Full grade twelve (12) certificate
Minimum of a certificate in Agriculture or equivalent
Basic computer skills
A valid motorcycle license for at least eight (8) months must be attached to your application
Any additional certification supporting motorcycle riding competence will serve as a major benefit
