You can now apply or nominate someone for the 2024 Chegg.org Global Student Prize. This prize is like the Global Teacher Prize but for students. It’s a way to celebrate students who are doing amazing things for learning and their communities.
To apply, you need to be at least 16 years old and in school or a skills program. Even if you study part-time or online, you can still apply.
Students will be judged based on how well they do in school, how they help others, what they do for their community, how they overcome challenges, their creativity, and how they think about the world.
If someone wants to nominate you, they have to write a short explanation online. Then, you’ll get an email inviting you to apply. You can apply in different languages too.
The selection process will pick the top 50 and then the top 10 finalists. The winner will be chosen from these finalists by a group of important people. The winner and finalists will be announced later in the year, getting recognition worldwide.
Applications and nominations are now open for the 2024 Chegg.org Global Student Prize. Chegg.org partnered with the Varkey Foundation to launch the $100,000 sister award to the Global Teacher Prize in 2021. Now in its fourth year, the award was created as a powerful platform to highlight incredible students who are making a real impact on learning, the lives of their peers, and society beyond. Applications and nominations will close on Sunday, May 5th.
The prize is open to all students who are at least 16-years-old and enrolled in an academic institution or training and skills program. Part-time students and students enrolled in online courses are also eligible for the prize.
Students applying for the Global Student Prize will be assessed on their academic achievement, impact on their peers, how they make a difference in their community and beyond, how they overcome the odds to achieve, how they demonstrate creativity and innovation, and how they operate as global citizens.
