- Supporting the GIZ technical expert in Yaoundé in implementing the project’s activities in Cameroon, CAR, Gabon and Equatorial Guinea
- Support in coordination with relevant government departments, international partners, the private sector and civil society
- Support in the preparation and implementation of events with international and national partners in Central Africa
- Support with consulting and service tasks (tenders, reports, statuses, presentations, etc.)
- Knowledge management: stakeholder mapping, current statuses in the 6 COMIFAC countries, support in maintaining internal communication channels such as jour fixe protocols, etc.
- Profile
- (University) studies in the field of forestry/wood or environmental sciences, resource management or business administration
- Knowledge of relevant political processes and regulations for the legal tropical timber trade such as FLEGT, EUTR, EUDR, private certification and due diligence of companies, traceability systems for timber legality, verification standards, increasing the timber value chain, marketing of tropical timber products
- Knowledge of business involvement in developing and emerging countries and/or experience in the private sector (e.g. through an internship) is desirable
- Expertise in international forest policy, sustainable forest management, wood processing and tropical timber trade is an advantage
- First experience in project management
- Ability to work in a team and strong communication and networking skills
- Very good knowledge of French and English, knowledge of Spanish is a plus – good writing skills
